4 images. Gas main fire... 95th Street and Normandie Avenue, 30 January 1952. General views of gas main fire that shot flames 50 feet in the air and caused some damage to market on corner. Flame lasted several hours until gas company shut off line. Caption slip reads: "Photographer: Brunk. Date: 01-30. Reporter: Stewart. Assignment: Gas main fire at 95th Street and Normandie Avenue. B22-23-28-30: Pix show blaze that attracted some 300 spectators at 95th Street and Normandie Avenue where a gas main caught fire and shot flames 50 feet in the air. Fire caused some damage to market on same corner. Firemen are shown controlling the blaze that lasted for several hours during night until gas company shut off the gas line. Cause of fire was unknown last night". Caption only. Edits: "B21-24-27-29".
