Beginning in 1908, J.S. and W.S. Kuhn of Pittsburg, Penn. purchased and then completed the Central Canal project; irrigation project served farmland in Colusa and Glenn Counties.
James Mills, Sr. and James Mills, Jr. operated the James Mills Orchard Corporation, a subsidiary of the American Water Works & Electric Company of New York. Owned land near Hamilton City and Maxwell (Colusa County).
