Northeastern view of the Astronomers Monument, located on the front lawn of Griffith Observatory. Around the monument, designed by Archibald Garner, are the likenesses of 6 astronomers: Hipparchus, Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler, Newton and Herschel. September 13, 1937.
