Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Los Angeles County Court House, [s.d.]. It was built in 1888, demolished in 1933, and was located on the south side of Temple between Broadway and Spring Street, on Poundcake Hill. The square clocktower topped with a dome rises above the 4-story sandstone building at center. It is perched on a hill surrounded by a stone wall enclosed grassy yard. A man wearing a suit descends the long set of broad stairs between two large palm trees that lead up to the building. One horse-drawn carriage and three automobiles can be seen in the streets that run from the center foreground to the right background and in front of the court house at left. A building with a sign reading, "Oak Bar [...] Hill" can be seen at left. Other buildings are visible in the background.
