Description
In June 1983, three Contra soldiers rest on a log at El Porvenir Farm, located two kilometers from the Honduras-Nicaragua border. The two soldiers on the left, one sitting and one standing, are each holding FN FAL assault rifle while the soldier on the right is sitting and holding a Kalashnikov assault rifle. In the background there is a lone Contra soldier standing next to a tree. The three men are members of the Nicaraguan Democratic Force (FDN in Spanish), whose members are known informally as "Contras."
