Members of YMCA groups lend a hand at groundbreaking ceremonies Sunday for the new Reseda YMCA at 18810 Vanowen St. The proposed building will include a multipurpose room, kitchen, chapel-counsel room, club room, offices, and an outdoor swimming pool and showers and dressing room. Total cost for the project will be about $408,000. Participating in the ceremonies are, from left, Roger Lacombe, 7, a Y-Indian Guide; John Hamlin, 14, president of the Junior High-Y Boys Council; Ray Metcalf, YMCA board chairman; Melanie Martin, 17, vice president of the Y Council; Ron Blair, 17, summer leader and member of the Caballeros, and Kevin Ball, 11, representative of the Gra-Y Beavers."
