Photograph article dated September 2, 1961 partially reads, "In the life of the Valley student there is always one weekend each year that never fails to manifest mixed emotions... apprehension... optimism... worry... expectation. When this certain September weekend begins, the student somehow hopes it may run forever. But when it ends, time has mystically raced, resulting in the seemingly shortest two days of the year. Why is this weekend unique? Because the following Monday marks the first day of school - the return to a stringent academic routine after a summer of play or work for pay."
