Description
This video is part of the Preserving Our Present series, found at http://preservingourpresent.org "Preserving Our Present: Diversity in Gardenland" Northgate Blvd, in the Gardenland/Northgate community, is a hub of activity most hours of the day. Cars zoom down the four-lane road, usually heading north or south to different parts of Sacramento. The commercial district of this neighborhood is compact, with an ever-changing rotation of new businesses drawn to the vibrant, diverse neighborhood. For the residents of this neighborhood, it's not a surprise to see different ethnic foods stocked on the shelves of their local store, and products from Russia, Mexico, India & Pakistan are easily found along Northgate Blvd. Favorite foods, such as elote, or mango agua frescas are also readily sold by sidewalk vendors to local youth around the neighborhood. Music by Eric Richards of Sacramento, California; used with permission.
