Photograph article dated January 23, 1959 partially reads, "Ten persons who police said beat a young brother and sister who later fled the Valley in fear of their lives were held by police today. Nine adults, ranging from a 57-year-old father to a 19-year-old youth appeared in Van Nuys Municipal Court today for their preliminary hearing. Each was charged with two counts of assault with intent to commit murder and one count of burglary. A 16-year-old girl is in custody of juvenile police."
