Aerial view of the Fire Department's Air Attack Base at Lockheed Air Terminal (Bob Hope Airport). View shows (1) crew works sacks of powdered phos-chek into vat, (2) transfers it into tank where it is mixed with water, (3) transfers the completed misture to air tanker for "drop" on fire. The chemical not only helps to extinguish (smother) fires but also fertilizes soil for quick regrowth of the burned-over brush. Photo dated: August 18, 1964.
