Photograph of a Playa del Rey (Venice) oil field, looking north on Pacific Avenue, Los Angeles, March 1, 1930. Two sets of railcar tracks can be seen to the right of center, moving into the background, while oil derricks bearing the signs "Blueridge Oil Co. Ltd. Daily No. 15" and "Mohawk" stand to either side. A few dozen oil derricks are visible. A sign on one of the buildings to the left of the tracks reads "[...]rs Royalty [...] of 50 Lots".
