Description
A young Contra soldier eats from a green plastic bowl while he stands in front of a building entrance. In the background there is another Contra soldier holding his firearm next to him and a cigarette on his lips. They are at El Porvenir Farm, located two kilometers from the Honduras-Nicaragua border in June 1983. They are both members of the Nicaraguan Democratic Force (FDN in Spanish), whose members are informally known as "Contras."
