Description
Native Tennessean, Paul J. Taylor, was one of the most influential Sacramento City Council members of the mid-twentieth century. His post-Word War II drive into politics was based on a platform of merging city and county health departments, increasing recreational opportunities, curbing youth crime, attracting industry to the area, and deepening the Sacramento River channel. He died in October of 1965 at the age of 61 at a Sutter Club function after collapsing from an apparent heart attack.
