Description
The constitution of the Monterey Peninsula Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL). The document contains articles outlining policies and procedures for activities, meetings, members, and officers of the JACL Monterey Peninsula Chapter. A handwritten note on the first page in the upper left corner states "KO 4/17/38." The fifth sheet of the document the typescript "a copy of the" is crossed out with pencil and written above the crossed out section is "must be notified." The sixth sheet of the document has one by-law in typescript with the word "out" written over it in pencil and a rectangle drawn in pencil around the entire paragraph. The Monterey Peninsula Japanese American Citizens League Collection features the records of the Monterey Peninsula chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League, including correspondence, meeting minutes, scrapbooks, and event planning materials. It also includes materials documenting the history of Japanese Americans in Monterey and WWII incarceration camps.
