Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated December 11, 1961 partially reads, "The Valley now must look upward for its residential growth. The multi-story apartment dwelling is gaining in importance each year in the area's construction picture...The once-endless orange orchards, walnut groves and alfalfa fields have all but disappeared. Land is becoming scarce. It is also becoming more expensive with each passing year. And, as with any scarce and expensive commodity, a more judicious use must be found for this land. The Valley continues to attract thousands of new residents each month, and a growing proportion of these new residents will settle in apartment houses in the years to come."
