Description
Group of about thirty children stand in front of the schoolhouse for Redwood Township District No. 1 (now Saratoga district). It was used as a schoolhouse from 1854 until 1866 when the building was condemned. It was also used as a social hall and meeting house for the Old Sons of Temperance. The structure was built of hand-hewn redwood shakes.
