View of the Santa Monica city hall building at Fourth Street and Santa Monica Boulevard in Santa Monica, California. Automobiles are parked at the street curb, and signs read "Kress Store," "Police Department," "City Hall," and "Western Union."
This is a copy negative (a photograph of another photograph). Negative is damaged and curling at the edges. Title devised by cataloger; date supplied by cataloger based on year same image was reproduced in the Los Angeles Times ("Santa Monica Offers Old Municipal Building for Sale," July 17, 1938, page A8).
