Photograph of an engraving of San Francisco's Woodward Gardens, San Francisco, ca.1880. Three flights of steps run up the foliage covered hill to a pave promenade on which several pedestrians are standing. Another flight of steps lead up from the promenade adjacent to a row of 3-story buildings to a large covered gazebo-like structure which is packed with people viewing the gardens below.
