Description
According to the photo caption of March 15, 1970 by The Sacramento Bee: "Heavy rains during the winter of 1907 caused a bread in the Sacramento River levee near Broderick and created an inland sea. The break occurred March 19 and opened a 100-yard gap in the levee. Water reached a depth of about seven feet at this residence oat 428 6th St., Broderick, according to Mrs. Josephine Holmes, who lived at the Broderick address at the time of the flood."
