Description
The Hotel Vendome opened in February 1889. It was one of the finest hotels in California, located on thirteen landscaped acres. In 1930, it was demolished to make way for houses.

image/jpeg2000 Master images scanned at 300 dpi and scaled to 6000 pixels on the longest side. Bit depth: grayscale at 8-bit; color at 24-bit. Images compressed to 800 pixels across the long dimension and to JPEG format. Scanning outsourced to Luna Imaging Inc. as part of an LSTA Grant funded by the California State Library in 2003-2004. Scanning hardware is unknown.
