Description
230 East Blithedale A two story stucco commercial building extending back from the street is seen, with parking along the side. At the rear, an extension goes off the the left with a different business. The main part of the building has multiple vertical-paned windows along both visible walls on the second floor. The bottom floor, with brick facing, has large windows on the front corner and two signs saying, "Drugs" below the upstairs windows and a blue awning along the length of the side of the building. The rear business has large picture windows facing forward and does not appear to have a second floor. Lawson and Dyer Pharmacy is the business in front. File notes tell us that Fred Bagshow built a house on this lot in 1896, whichh was torn down by new owner Oliver Sollom in 1945 to build the current shopping center and parking lot. Varney's Appliance Store and Vernon's Pharmacy were early tenants of the center.
