Photograph caption date stamped May 30, 1957 reads, "Greg Mather, Birmingham High's shotputter, was one of five Valley League track and field athletes in the state high school meet at Edwards Stadium, University of California campus. Mather qualified for the state meet with a mark of 55 ft. 2 3/4 in. in the recent city finals."
