Shades of L.A. is an archive of photographs representing the contemporary and historic diversity of families in Los Angeles. Images were chosen from family albums and include daily life, social organizations, work, personal and holiday celebrations, and migration and immigration activities. Description
Built in 1937-1940, Federal Courthouse and U.S. Post Office Building was designed by architects Gilbert Stanley Underwood and Louis A. Simon and cost over $8 million to build. Los Angeles City Hall was designed by John and Donald Parkinson, John C. Austin, and Albert C. Martin, and was completed in 1928. Part 1 of panorama of Los Angeles Civic Center.
