Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated December 26, 1963 partially reads, "On New Year's Day, cross your fingers. Hold your breath and make a wish. Two Valley communities - Burbank and Sepulveda - are in the Tournament of Roses this year, and their floats will be competing for prizes with entries from across the state. There'll be a dozen prayers when workmen pin on the last bloom. And there'll be a hundred sighs when the floats finally appear in the parade - Burbank's yellow, orchid, white and rose tribute to the late President John F. Kennedy and Sepulveda's white, orange and brown entry giving forth real organ music." Photograph caption reads, "Jeri Thompson, Ginny Rollins, Linda Hughes, all 17, will ride Burbank's float."
