Photograph of a view of Broadway, looking north from the 600 block toward 6th Street, ca.1924. Streets are crowded with cars. The sidewalks are filled with pedestrian traffic. A building on the right has scaffolding (?) out to the street. In the extreme foreground, at right, a part of the marquee on the Orpheum/Palace Theatre can be seen (located at 630 South Broadway). In the middle, at left, the "Grauman's" vertical is visible (553 South Broadway) next to it, the Swelldom building can be seen at the north-east corner of 6th Street and Broadway (as of February 2019, both building are still extant). Legible signs include: "Victrolas", "Platt" "Grauman's".
