Richards, commander of the Los Angeles Police Department's new Foothill Division in Pacoima, welcomes police officers who joined the division when it opened Friday. The new station was activated at a 12:01 a.m. roll call and officers were in the field by 1 a.m. The station will serve Tujunga, Sunland, Pacoima, Sylmar and Sun Valley. These areas formerly were served by the Van Nuys and North Hollywood divisions."
