Designed by S. Charles Lee and opened in 1931, the Sunkist Theatre existed until the late 1950s, when it was remodeled into retail shops and offices.
Exterior view of the Spanish style Sunkist Theatre, located at 445 N. Garey in Pomona, captured on opening day, November 4, 1931. Pacific Electric streetcar tracks are seen in the foreground on Garey Avenue. The marquee indicates that the film being shown is "Mothers Millions," officially known as "The She-Wolf."
