Photograph was edited for publication purposes The Westinghouse Science Talent Search is a prestigious science competition for high school seniors sponsored by the Society for Science & the Public (formerly Science Service), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting science through educational programs and publications. The Society for Science & the Public began the competition in 1942 in partnership with the Westinghouse Electric Corporation. In 1998 Intel became the sponsor for the competition and is currently known as the Intel Science Talent Search. Photograph caption dated February 9, 1956 reads, "Three Tujunga youths who won honorable mention in national Westinghouse science talent search test radio set. From left are Albert Kendig, 17, Sam Ginsburg, 16, and Daniel Ross, 17. All three are students at Verdugo Hills High school and operate set in spare time."
