Description
This circa 1910 postcard shows the Sacramento Free Public Library, located at 718 I Street, on the south side of I Street, between Seventh and Eighth streets. The library moved east, in 1918, to 828 I Street. After the advent of World War I and the onset of the influenza pandemic, the structure became a care facility for those afflicted by the condition. During that time, it was known as the Victory Hospital.
