Description
The rear of the California State Capital building is shown in this circa 1915 postcard. The shudder speed and slowness of early twentieth-century photography made the artistic alteration of postcards essential for giving the impression of night. In the upper, left-hand corner is, for the era, a commonly-used cliche moon.
