Photograph was edited for publication purposes Elton H. Rule was born in Stockton, California on June 13, 1916. He was a local television executive in Los Angeles before moving up the ranks to become president of the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). He is credited with greatly expanding the network's ratings and revenue during his tenure, from 1972-1983. He died in Beverly Hills, California on May 5, 1990. Photograph caption dated June 27, 1957 reads "Harry Koplan, fourth from left, takes office as new president of San Fernando Valley Youth Foundation. Other new executives include, from left, Douglas Pedlow Jr., treasurer; Al Molinaro, Russell Quisenberry and Elton Rule, vice presidents, and Mrs. John Scully, secretary." Quisenberry is publisher of the Valley Times Newspaper. Rule is general manager of KABC-TV.
