Description
Exterior view of the home of Fielding Lard (or Laird) who whip-sawed lumber for the first frame house in Santa Clara in 1847. Lard's house stood on the south side of Benton Street, between Main Street and Jackson Street. Lard came overland from Missouri in 1846.
