Description
Photograph of a wood Howe truss bridge across the Alamo River below Holtville, Imperial County, California, ca.1910. The skeletal wooden bridge extends over the smooth river below until it meets the empty field on the right. Short, dirt mounds lie on either shore of the river with scrub grass leaning over the water's edge. Two small row boats are moored on the far shore beneath the bridge at center. One man sits in one of the small, wooden boats while a second stands on shore with baggage in hand.
