Description
RCA Radiola III-A radio receiver Type R1, range 220-550 meters. Includes dials for amplification and station selector on the face. Body of the radio is walnut; knobs are Bakelite, metal controls are nickel-plated. The vacuum tubes for this receiver are not installed, but it would have contained four tubes to serve as the detector and audio amplifier. The Model III-A, was larger and more expensive than the Model III, with enough amplification to connect a loudspeaker rather than headphones.
