Description
Close-up of the pillow on which lies the head of the recumbent Buddha statue. At its center is a face of a lion, kirtimukha, with an outstretched tongue. Surrounding it are lotus petals, both motifs are frequently met symbols of the Sinhala race and Buddhist doctrine.
