Photograph article dated November 2, 1949 partially reads, "Doors of the modern new Hillview Shopping Center at Woodman Ave. and Oxnard St. in Van Nuys will swing open amid gaiety and music tomorrow at 8 a.m. Following nearly six months of construction, the new center will be a field of bargains during its three-day opening celebration tomorrow, Friday and Saturday. Store hours all three days will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Within the Hillview Shopping Center is an up-to-the-minute super market, a beauty and hair-styling shop, a serve-yourself liquor store and a 24-hour service cleaners."
