Description
Photo used for an article published: February 11, 1960.; Photograph originally property of the Pacific Electric Railway Company in Los Angeles.
Caption on the verso of the image reads, "A famous Pacific Electric excursion trip was the Mt. Lowe trip. From Los Angeles, sightseers took a Pasadena car to Altadena and Rubio Canyon, transferred to the cable car on the incline, went up 62% grade to Echo Mountain, and then took a narrow-gauge trolley car to Alpine Tavern on Mt. Lowe. Despite the spectacular nature of the run, not a single accident was recorded. Photo shows transfer point to cable car, the incline and car appearing in upper left left of the picture."; For similar view, see image 00070123.
