Note: Ähnliches Photo Cf. QD-30.042.0084. (PST). Note translation: Similar photo Cf. QD-30.042.0084. (PST). - Published as no 75 in the album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer' (= 'Eighty pictures of the Goldcoast (West Africa) by the missionary Fritz Ramseyer'), Neuchâtel 1895. - Caption there: "Our advanced post Bompata. We have attempted to start a mission station in Kumase twice, but the King would not allow it. In an attempt to approach Kumase as near as we could we chose Bompata, the capital of the province of Asante-Akem, as an outstation. The beginnings were difficult, but the Lord has shown us his help. At the end of 1894 there were 64 christians in the congregation here. Next to the house which we see here the Christians are building a very friendly [French caption: 'pretty'] chapel."
