Caption slip reads: "Photographer: Gaze. Date: 1956-03-28. Reporter: Gaze. Assignment: WLA City Hall safes. 59-61-62: West Los Angeles Municipal Court safe as it was discovered when employes [sic] came to work this morning with nearly $4,000 taken. Only men identified in pix [sic] are Detective Bill Stambler (left), and Sgt. C.W. Nanney, examining safe (at right). 57-58: It's business as usual as employes sic] in the West Los Angeles district health office work at desks with floor safe broken open (foreground) and 2nd safe unsuccessfully jimmied (background)."
