Description
24 lines (lines one through 18 forming inverted triangle), written on recto across the fibers. In cursive hand. The pattern of the holes in this papyrus makes clear that the papyrus was rolled up from the top down. Verso: empty. Magical amulet against fever addressed to a deity called Kok Kouk Koul and preceded by a magical word repeated with the successive omission of the first and last letters, so as to form an inverted triangle, reading the same across or down one side and up the other. Below triangle are six additional lines. This charm has a close similarity to a papyrus found at Heracleopolis, now lost, but published by Wilcken in Archiv, v. 1, p. 420-427 and BGU 956. In Greek.
