Description
This is a photograph of Fr. Knotek getting ready for a bike ride accompanied by a dog.
Born in Wisconsin, Fr. Knotek came to maryknoll in 1934 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1941. He was assigned to Kweilin, China and travel difficulties delayed his arrival in Hong Kong just enough for him to be captured by the Japanese invasion on December 8, 1941. After almost a year in the Stanley Internment Camp he was released and went to his mission in Kweilin. He was expelled by the communists in 1951.
