Photograph caption dated February 18, 1950 reads, "His best friend - Four-year-old dashshund [sic] Jama barked hysterically to rouse her master, Jack Stallings, when fire broke out in his home at 1129 Lucas St., San Fernando. The pup was credited with saving the house and perhaps Stallings' life."
