Photograph of a Hopi Indian blind man winding yarn, ca.1900. The scrawny man appears to be in his sixties or older. His grey hair is tousled. His sparse mustache and beard are ungroomed. He holds a ball of yarn in one hand, while his other hand, he uses to grab hold of the yarn wrapped from his right foot to his left knee. He is sitting on the ground on a blanket or rug. He wears only a loincloth.
