At the top of a hill stands a large ornate building with three stories of high arched windows and a tower at each of the four corners. Leading up the side of the hill to the palace are many smaller houses and a temple-like structure with high columns. The back of the postcard is blank and contains a printed title: "Madagascar - Le Palais de la Reine a Madagascar" ("The Palace of the Queen of Madagascar"). The back also contains printed information about the publisher: "Ste des Missions Evangeliques, 102, Bd Arago, Paris".
