This film documents the exterior of the City Hall complex in about 1976, shortly after its completion. Central to the complex is the City Hall, City Council Chambers annex, and City Jail, designed by award-winning architect Kurt Meyer. It shows the only complete depiction of the original extensive landscaped grounds. It also features the large public sculpture created by Jack Zajac, a Guggenheim Fellow and three-time recipient of the Prixe du Rome, which was commissioned for the site by the Huntington Beach Co., original developers of the city. The landscaping has since been significantly altered and the sculpture has been removed. The undeveloped area around the City Hall can also be seen. It is now surrounded by housing and a shopping center. Film includes miscellaneous unrelated contemporaneous public and committee comments on various issues. Written on film box: "Exterior of City Hall CA 1975 W/ Zajac Sculp"
