Description
Photograph of the Verdugo house, Glendale, ca.1900. The house, the last of five adobes that the Verdugo family built in Verdugo Canyon, is pictured here behind several trees so that only parts of the shingled roof, a six-pane window, the front door and the brick steps to the porch are clearly visible. The perimeter of the yard is demarcated by an approximately half-foot barrier of large, rounded stones, and a row of shrubs lines the walkway to the porch of the house on either side. What appears to be a large terracotta jar hangs from the tree in the left foreground, approximately five feet off the ground.
