Description
Kashnor notes, "The route shoWs the passage doWn Lake Champlain to CroWn Point, then south to Ticonderoga, from Whence Burgoyne passed through South Bay to Skeneboro, Which he reached on the 6th of July, and fought the engagement at Fort Ann, on Wood Creek, on 8th July. He is shoWn to have crossed the Hudson at Fort EdWard, and to have reached Half Moon of the MohaWk, but had fought an engagement at Freeman's Farm on Sept. 19, the action at Braemus Heights is dated Oct. 7th, and the final action at Saratoga, 10th October. It Was a famous march, but to have attacked 20,000 men With a force of only 5,000 could have only had one result, and Burgoyne surrendered to Gates on October 17." Relief: hachures.
