Kashnor notes, "This does not show the Mississippi of La Salle, nor are the coastlines of Lake Superior or Michigan complete. California is an island, on which are shown New Albion, Port of Francis Drake, Santa Barbara, etc." Alt. title from top of page. McLaughlin identifies author as Sanson, Nicholas/ Jaillot, Hubert since this is a copy of Sanson's 1656 map. Rio del Norte flows into Mer Vermejo. Prime meridian: Ferro. Relief: pictorial.
