Description
A cabinet card photograph of students and faculty at Boyle Heights School, Oscar Shaw, Los Angeles, 1891. The view shows several dozen children and four women in front of the wood-sided building with two large windows with open shutters. Modern pen inscriptions on the front and back identify the school, photographer, date and more. Pencil inscriptions on the reverse indicate the person's father was Shaw and that the school was then known, as it is today, as Breed Street School. With a round stamp residue marking, chipping, soiling, edge staining and rubbing and curvature, the overall condition is fair.
