Photograph of an aerial view of East Los Angeles looking north on Soto Street, 1949. Soto runs from the foreground at center into the background at right. The Los Angeles River can be seen at left and is crossed by several arched bridges. A large, light-colored building can be seen at center, while another large building is visible in the background at right. Between those buildings, thousands of small structures are visible. Low hills can be seen at left.
